Welcome to spring. Although we could easily still have below freezing temperatures and snow, just getting past the middle of March seems good enough. We do know that the bone-shattering temperatures are over and if they are not we are all in serious trouble.

The chipmunks are scampering through the yard. They must at least semi-hibernate if they do not really hibernate. Maybe they sleep in the PVC piping that we use for conduits; they have not forgotten about it over the winter. We use the pipes to carry electrical cords under ground and to give the hose a channel under the driveway. The chipmunks seem to like all of the pipes and do not prefer any one to another.
